Roobrik Accepted into Aging2.0 Academy

Durham, NC – December 17, 2014 – Roobrik is pleased to announce they have been selected to join the highly competitive Aging2.0 Academy program. Roobrik online decision tools for health and long term care help family caregivers make difficult choices with clarity and confidence. The only program of its kind in the world, the Aging 2.0 Academy is designed to connect, support and accelerate the top startups in aging and long-term care. The year-long program launched in late November in San Francisco and will continue through 2015.

The Roobrik platform is designed for the 90 million family caregivers who turn to the Internet for help with complex care decisions. Roobrik tools provide a structured decision process for common, high-stakes transitions, like stopping driving, home safety, or cognitive decline.  Caregivers complete a brief assessment and receive a personalized decision summary that includes a curated set of expert resources to help form a plan and carry out a decision.

Over the course of the year-long program, Academy companies will receive critical market insight, access to consumers, expert mentorship and curated introductions to pilots, distribution and investors to help them achieve their strategic goals and ultimately improve the lives of older adults around the world – the mission of Aging2.0. Through Aging2.0’s partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs, Academy companies will also have access to Google training, mentorship and products.

“Our participation in the Aging 2.0 Academy comes at the perfect time,” explains Roobrik co-founder and CEO, Nate O’Keefe. “We released our first product, Is It Still Safe To Drive?, in beta this week. As we build our next set of tools around decisions to age in place at home, or move to a long term care facility, the network and support available from the Academy will allow Roobrik to reach more industry stakeholders and, ultimately, caregivers, more quickly.”

Academy applicants underwent a competitive 6-week screening process, which included valuable input from both the Aging2.0 Leaders Circle corporate partners and the Aging2.0 Consumer Panel, who see and experience the needs first hand every day. “We were blown away by the quality and quantity of Academy applicants this year and are thrilled to have Roobrik in the 2014-2015 cohort,” said Katy Fike, PhD., Aging2.0 co-founder. “Together with our partners, we look forward to working with this talented group of entrepreneurs as they to bring their much-needed products and services to market.”
